    What gives ???

I upgraded my motor to a Trinigy 2300kv 6 poll and a trinity 120amp esc running 40c 5000mah lipos 40/52 prop. and my buddy's bone stock SV with a cf 45 is faster than mine.... What gives???? It is defiantly not running wet, it is out of the water really well and corners really well on the course but just needs more mph in the straights.

Do you have a link to the motor and esc? Maybe not the right prop for that motor, or maybe not the right motor timing. What is the timing set for? Motor timing from the esc should be high for a 6 pole. I would start looking at the esc settings, then if nothing changes try a different prop.

I didn't know the turnigy where 6 pole motors. If it is a 6 pole try adjusting the motor timing, I would pop a end bell and take a peek inside to see how many poles it was just to be sure though. Then you can properly adust the esc. Just my 2 cents.

Do I need to adjust my timing with my esc, or on the motor??

As you can probably tell I do not know to much about electric set ups.

Well I figured out the programming I think it was at 15* so I moved it up to 22.5* hoping I can sneak out and try it today

If your buddy is running the stock motor then it could just be available power. You list the spec's for that Turnigy at 400 watts. The stock SV27 motor can put out close to 700 watts. And I have read lots of comments on different sites (mainly A/C or helo) that say you cant get the advertised wattage out of a Turnigy. I dont know that for a fact and dont run any of those motors but it really might come down to that motor is not up to the task you seek.

What batteries is your buddy using? And what prop are you using?

                    Thanks for the info guys

He is running the same batteries as mine but only 20c and mine are 40c. I am running a 40/52 and he is running a cf45.

So the Watts are the power it can produce???

I just got back from my testing spot to see if the timing advance worked, and being a little excited to finally get out there, and to see perfect conditions. I accidently plugged the batteries together, instead of into the esc... ya that didn't end well. Back to waiting for the new batteries.

I finally got out today with some new batteries, and the timing advanced to 22.5*.
Holey cow what a difference. It was able to easily drive buy my buddies SV, and was much faster on the top end, for about 3 laps.

I fried the esc and The motor as well. Not to sure if the the motor didn't hold up and killed the esc??? The water was flowing well out of the boat. and I was running the 40/52 prop, 30c 5000 lipo's

                        746 watts = 1hp

To much timing maybe. I think those are only 2 pole motors, I don't use them though. Nice price, but not enough WATTS!!!!

I guess I am on the hunt fore a UL1 motor esc for it. Or pull the one out of my UL1 and jam it in the SV, and find something else for the UL
