I know when I received my SV from Tower the drive shaft wasn't hardly greased at all and their was a tiny piece of the packing styrofoam that protect the rudder inside the box clogging the rudder pickup. I'm new to the hobby and don't know that much, but it could be things like that may have made the motor work that much harder or not properly cooled. Or just bad motor from stock. Sorry bout your luck, it's a super fun boat.Comment

When we got the SV 27, the shaft was a total mess...goo instead of grease so I cleaned everything, ran in the bushing at the stinger with an electric drill and greased with GrimRacer cable grease. It was perfect before we ran it...I suspect that there was something wrong with the bearings and that they were binding. This pulled excessive current which in turn fried the windings.

Water was shooting out of the water outlet to about 12" to the side of the hull and the ESC was hot but not fried like the motor...very strange. I have a VS-1 tunnel with a UL-1 motor and the same waterjacket as the SV 27 and the UL-1 motor runs cold at 50mph!I let the dogs out...Comment

The motor was so hot that white smoke was coming from under the hatch when we brought it in...you could fry eggs on it!
The insulation burned off the windings...the bearings are toast too!I let the dogs out...Comment

that sucks and I have no Idea why unless the stuffing tube was not installed right..
my budy took a SV backs because the stuffing tube was installed wrong and caused alot of drag on the shaft and poped the esc.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment
