Going Lipo need some help.

Lipos are here! WOW soft wires and 10 gauge!! they have bullet connectors on them and i use deans why do they bother putting the connectors on these lipos when you have to switch them anyhow?
They do look SWEET though!!!

I think you would be better off getting rid of the Deans & using bullets through the whole system.
Less resistance, less wasted current, less heat. That's why they come with bullets.
You'll find most higher powered systems these days will have bullets.
Do they come with two female bullets or a male & a female bullet?
Just curious.

to late i swapped them out already... they looked darn good also!! they where one side male and the other wire female.

i have similar setup. i use the lipo shield from kintecracing and stock esc. i dont use any aa batts. never have. has never let my lipos go into any dangerous levels ever!! you will notice when your sv starts to slow when it does head in. if not the lipo shield will completely cut power to save your lipos. let it sit still without moving anything for few seconds it will reset and bring it in right away if you wanna get it to the bank.

If it works well i will be getting one for my cars also as i don't like how the novak ones work.

i think you will like it a lot. mine has worked flawlessly every time i have used it. mine is stopping at 3.2v/cell or slightly above. my charger is saying my 2s pack is @6.4volts or slightly above that every time i charge it after running my sv. switching to lipos in my sv was a HUGE gain speed as well as runtime. it was a little scary to drive at first til i got used to the speed increase!!lol

to the motor bracket or to the middle of the motor or further?

man really it just kinda varies for me. prob a good starting point is end of pack to center of motor. i bend my trim tabs down pretty far and that really helps mine a lot. i have blown it over without them bent down. on too rough water of course. dont have gps or anything like that but i dont see the big speed increase with them up. i just know its on the edge all the time with them up.
also when i said HUGE increase in speed i meant over a 6cell nimh pack. i never tried 7 cell packs when i could buy lipos for same money or less. mine are protek 5000mah 30c with a hardcase and i use deans connectors with no probs. stock esc though.

I never run mine on lipos this will be the first time...Mines tabs are flush with the bottom....May have to do a adjustment!! LOL!!
