I bought the stuff with the cut down the middle, all I did was zip-tie them to the pvc and face the open end up towards the sky. Works for me, although the other one u suggested maybe easier.

I almost bought the same, but found the closed end stuff on accident. you gotta work it a bit to get it on, but it comes out really nice!

I got another traxxas 12-turn and ran it with the 535 prop on 2s lipo. Was expecting more speed than my graupner race 8.4. But no-go! The speed was about the same and the motor ran waay hotter. It will only be a matter of time before I burn up another 12-turn and put the graupner back in. Oh well, The 12-turn only cost me 20-bucks shipped!

I'm thinking of running the 23 turn traxxas motor from the villian. Got the idea from jesse j. I have a small 3300mah 4s lipo and an extra seaking 60a esc. to use, so I would only have to purchase the motor. Plus I have the y535 prop I,ve been playing around with. This might be a good combo??

I think I read somewhere that Grim ran this motor http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJ766&P=7 stock prop on 2s for low 20s. Let me see if I can find that link.

The Rio EP was not designed to be a speed demon.. If that was the case it would have been brushless.

The market for this boat is the new guy that just wants to get the feel for an RC boat and the 2.4 is hobby shop friendly.. do ya know what I mean?

Anywho.. YEP.. its time to MAKE IT ROCK.. mine has went 22 on a brush (Speed 600) motor and 7 cells..
