If it cooks the ESC then others will know not to try it
I've been looking at a Hydra 120 anyway

The strut is at 1" and the prop is angled down at 2 degrees. Batteries are all the way forward.

Ok, I think I know what the 1" at the strut means, but what or how do you get the 2* prop angle?

Lowering the strut will usaully put the needed angle on the strut. Using a setup board you should see light under the front edge of strut. 030" clearance will work. Some have used more in the UL1 with good results . You just have to test

Does lowering the strut loosen the boat up?

Lowering the strut helps stabilize the boat by lowering the nose of the boat. If it is running too wet then raise it a tad.

Check out Temp B. That is the ESC's Deans Connector!
Does your cool Eagle show RPM ?

It can, but I don't have that sensor. I have the two temp sensors and the GPS expander.
I could give you a chart with voltage and you could estimate RPM using math.

                      Motor KV (2030) x voltage = RPMs

But under a load would be different...

It wouldn't be as far off as you think because voltage drops as well when load is applied.

I hope your newly sharpened L40 X 57 prop goes faster. Please post Eagle Tree numbers and speed afterwards.

Yes voltage does drop under load, but you cannot just multiply volts (4s) times kv to get your top rpm under a load...

I have a 60 size Cap 232 with a 500kv motor.. On 6s it will spin well over 11k free, but with a 16x8 prop my rpm is around 8k..
So by your math I'm only at 16v but in reality my batteries only drop about 1.5v..

Will do. The weather has been cruddy for the last couple of days.
