Nice Pics Joe.
One word of driving advice; the boat will generally go faster with at least part of the prop making contact with the water.Grand River Marine Modellers

Nice pics! Don't worry, it's hard to keep the prop in the water when it's rough!Mini Cat Racing USA

NAVY goes airborne
Here are a couple of pics from Saturdays fun. I posted a mess more over at RCGroups.
I could not keep my boat in the water with the 40X57/3 and straight fin combo....no matter what. I put the prop....all the way down to 1 1/8"...didn't help.
Speeds where in the upper 40s with 49.0mph the fastest. LuckyDuc...my deans connector temps were around 150 degrees.

Sounds like the strait turn fin was a mistake. Go back to the curved UL-1 or bend the stait fin until it holds water in turns. My fin is tilted up a little. You can see the position of my turnfin against setup board in this link:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ead.php?t=7539
Here's a quote from UL-1 manual:
TURN FIN – The turn fin is what holds the boat in the corners
at speed. The turn fin can also be tilted back and forth to
change the way the boat handles. Tilting the fin up (positive)
causes the boat to run tighter on the water and tilting it down
(negative) causes it to run looser.

The corners were not a problem....it was the front stretch. The straight fin was fine everywhere except the straightaway. I had no lifting problem with the stock fin...I never had a blow over with it even with the prop all the up to 7/8" and running the 40X57. It is hard to get hooked up with that setup but it runs pretty light and fast. I will be going back to it after I complete surgical repairs of the damaged glass in the fin area. Time to do Darin's turn fin mod.Comment
