I have checked my original flex cable and it appears okay....I am still going to buy a OSE one soon.

Just a question - After re-installation how do I now stop the Teflon tube from spinning inside the brass tube? Can it be glued?

I have an OSE upgraded flex on order but in the meantime i seperated my flex form the stub shaft by pulling it apart! it definately would have let go in the first 20 ft i bet! I then cleaned it all with acetone and resoldered it, took it out for maiden with new power system but left stock propm she held up and seems to handle great should be way faster with new prop

If you think about it, you can't possibly reverse the "twist" of the flex cable by only swapping ends.

It would would be comparable to changing a threaded shaft from a right handed to left handed thread just by flipping it over (nut will still screw on clockwise regardless of which end you start threading it on at).

You could also take that pic of the flex cables and flip it upside down to see what I mean.

I'd run the stock flex shaft, but I really can't gamble at losing the shaft and prop on the first run. New parts - (even free replacements from Hobby Services) are weeks away up here in Canada with a stalled postal system and the local shops just don't stock boat parts - only complete boats (everyone only cares about planes and cars don't you know?)

Considering this, I'll really need to be sure of the cable before gambling on it. If I could find a nice, clear, shallow place to run the boat maybe I could retrieve the lost parts, but I can't count on that.
