1614 has 1.4 pitch ratio. 1615 has 1.5 pitch ratio. Now. If one is a 15 degree take and the other is a 17 degree rake, well that changes it a little more as far as lift goes.

The more rake the more lift, right...

I think the more rake the more the prop 'bites' into the water causing the transom to hunker down or the bow to get light.

          Yep :) http://www.mercuryracing.com/prop-sc...-3-blade-rake/

srislash: How do you normally know how much prop to cut down/reduce? I'm testing higher RPM on my tp's with some not so great results so I was thinking to cut down a pair of CNC 448's (to 444 and then to 442)

People keep talking about their "rated efficiency"... what does that pertain to? they're not really efficient at high rpm though right...

So these 14 props have the same rake as the 15 ?
I like the way my 15 props run on my monos
            reason for the question

Yes. But you have to be careful. There is a 1914-10-50 and it's not the same as a 1914-17-45. You must pay attention to all the numbers. There's not many 14 pitch series out just yet. I just checked the ose store and so far I didn't see any of the new stuff yet. I think he's supposed to be getting a shipment very soon with some new numbers. The 48mm 3 blade that is comparable to a 447/3 isn't done yet either. I've got one coming to me as soon as it is. Along with a couple other things.

kfxguy: Any reason to go with a higher BAR prop like .6 versus a .45 ?

Well the theory is it has more tongue and they should bite better off the start, but I haven't experienced any difference except overall they are slower. That's just a general statement without going in depth. I did have a 1914-10-50 do quite well on my mono however. I guess it all depends on the hull. I know an 1815 and 1915 bite well on take off with a car but they slip pretty bad on a mono. The further back the prop is away from the transom on a mono it does help. I'm expecting the three blades to help that though. I need to get some time to work these props and get to testing. Right now I'm in build mode and haven't run anything for a few weeks. I will let you know what I find, I did get a few others I didn't post about.
