Just 4mm ID(8mm OD) silicone hose with a large bore outlet running through the motor only(not the mount) first and then through the ESC. Stock rudder pickup. It really flows! The warmest part is the lipos. I'm just running two 2s 4,000mah Nano Techs right now but I have some 5500mah Revoletrix on the way that should hopefully help.

Yeah, I was 99% sure the SSS motor was a four pole. The FSD motors that used to come in them where two pole and crappy as hell. I'm not changing my SSS out just yet because it's running good!

Cool. I am getting ready to do the Velcro on the sides as well. Just not happy with the mount up front and I run 2x 2s like you anyway. Anything special I should know before doing the Velcro? I got the industrial extreme to stick down in the hull and I plan to use 2 or 3 pieces of the one wrap to actually secure the batteries. Right now I am running 2S 7200 60C hard packs from SMC (what we use in our 1/10 scale cars). I also have a 9000 60C soft pack from SMC that is a beast and I think should work really well for this application. I plan to get a couple of those for dedicated boat batteries and move to 6mm bullets.

So why does everyone swap out the 2-piece drive line? Does the square end strip out? Seems fairly robust to me plus you don't have to worry about losing a prop if the cable breaks. Ah it obviously is easier to grease without having to pull the stinger, I bet that is it.

Your right most change to a 1 piece flex for quicker & easier maintenance, + the replacment flexes are a better quality. Its a pain having to remove the stinger to get the flex out, you then also have to remove the prop nut, prop & dog to get the stub shaft out of the stinger for cleaning & greasing.

Also, the stock stinger shaft is not long enough to take most other prop choices.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be looking to order a replacement 1 piece since I just ordered a bunch of props to test. lol

Okay got my 3674 1900kv leo swapped in. Only change I had to do was trim the flex about 1/8 because the shaft on the leo was longer. As the flex cable butted right up to the motor shaft from the factory. Well off to the pond. To tell you the truth it wasn't that noticeable of a difference. Luckily I also got the props in from ofe that I had ordered earlier in the week. I was worried they wouldn't fit the stock prop shaft but turns out the x440/3 and x442 both fit fine. The m545 is definitely a no go until I swap to the one piece drive. The props hub is too long to get the retainer on.

I quickly cleaned up and sharpened the x440/3 and took it too the pond. Holy cow now were talking! Wow I can not believe the difference. The low speed ventilation is considerably better but the biggest difference is the top end. With the stock prop it was no problem to stretch it out on the little pond. With the new prop it is so much faster I'm going to need to find some bigger water! I hope to get the x442 ready for testing tomorrow.

So I picked up a Leopard 4092 1480kv from another member. I know it is a size larger than I need but oh well, did him a favor and saved me some money. 1480kv on 6s is close to 2200kv on 4s so I think it should work well. With this kv it really opens up the options for me. I can run 4s wide open (~40mph) on the small ponds and not worry about running part throttle the entire pack. Then step up to 5s (~50mph) and 6s (~60mph?) when the need arises. Those speeds are just calculated numbers with an x548, possibly way off I don't know. Still looking at battery combinations. If my math is right to equal the total wattage of a 10,000mah 4s2p set up I only need about 6700mah with 6s. If that is the case I think I should be fine sticking with series wiring with large 2s and 3s batteries. SPC and SMC both have great 7200mah 2s and 3s batteries. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this.
