As soon as you get away from the stock prop you will get heat. I run the 1800 with 4S (this is the rules for racing this class ) and am running a X445 back cut with tongue removed. 4 1/2 min race and temps tolerable any more prop and something is going to fry. I would start 442 to 445 and check temps after a couple of laps and see where you are.

Thank you for the help! So would a m442 work since de tongued? I was gonna get a sharpened and balanced one. What speeds would I expect going from a stock prop to say a 442 on 6s? Is it even noticeable and worth the $$? Just trying to achieve the highest top speed without drastic changes to the boat or potentially damaging it.

In the beginning the only mod I did was trim the boat and change to a 442 and gained about 5 mph. The M prop is better as you dont have to cut the tongue. To be honest 4s is really more than you need for this boat. Trimmed right it is really all than it can handle. You will be upside down more than you want with 6s and will be burning stuff up. There are other hulls, speedos and motors that can handle 6s much better.

I ordered an M440 sharpened and balanced, looking forward to seeing what it can do :)

Guys I just ran my Blackjack29 v3. Bought 2 Dynamite 3s 5000mah 50c. lipos and I upgraded the prop to an Octura M440 Sharpened and Balanced. This thing absolutely halls! Clocked at 58.6 mph!! Ran it for 9 minutes and motor and ESC warm but not hot by any means. This has the 2000kv motor and 120 Amp ESC. The new hull is awesome and rides super smooth and stable. Just wanted to share.
