yea thats the stock prop. find my thread that says "gps prop testing" and the stock prop I use in the test is that one. If i remember correctly, it did 38mph and the x642 did 44.7mph. Ill be doing more testing saturday. (That was with the 1500kv version motor)

it will go past 50 mph this weekend. the stock 1800kv motor went out (well the bearings were rusted and almost locked up) i replaced the bearings and now the motor does not get smoking hot within 30 seconds..

i'll post you a video in a minute. heres the whole story: I videoed the boat on 6s (5000mah 50c venom 3s packs) with the 1800kv motor with an x642 prop. It gps 44.8mph in this setup. Then while i was running it, it just stopped. I thought i burnt the esc. After further investigation I found one of the battery wires had a melted solder joint on a deans connector (why wouldnt it? lol...deans sucks for this application). After even more checking, the motor was under a bind and getting super hot and pulling a large amp load....the insides were rusted and the bearings were rusted and almost froze up. So.....I decided to take the 1500kv motor out of my sons 26" shockwave and test it. same exact motor, same batteries, prop....just lower kv. That motor did 44.7mph....thats when i knew the 1800kv motor definately wasnt performing up to par. As far as i was concerned, the motor was no good so I wacked the shaft with a hammer (not caring if it broke....couldnt break it any worse right?) and got it apart with no damage whatsoever. I measured the bearings and ordered another set in hopes that i could revive that motor. I put the bearings in last night, loctite the rear cap back on and added two 3mm button head screws to it for insurance and then tested it. MUCH better. My new gps came in yesterday so ill be back to testing this weekend. I fully expect 50 plus out of it.

I ran an X442 that was balanced and sharpened back when running the stock 1800 kv motor on my BJ29. It ran well, but constantly fought excessive heat buildup in the motor wires. I dropped down to the 1500 kv Miss Geico motor and things improved, but the wires were still heating up on 6s.

I have since replaced the Pro Boat motors with a Leopard 3674 rated at 1400 kv and a Sea King 180 v2. It now swings a cupped S215 prop (same as stock BJ29) prop with ease. Its a rocket ship for a 29" hull and I no longer fight the heat issues. Motor and esc come back cool after a timed 3 minute run and the wires are no longer smoking.

I haven't ran a x442 yet . I just recieved a X642 yesterday (sharpened and balanced) and the boat runs pretty good ! No heat issues on motor or esc .. How ever the trinty 60c/90c boost 6300 mah 2s's are getting warm and not liking the connectors .. Gotta go bullets I guess and spring for some good batteries . Otherwise I can't complain ! Here's playing in a small pond today ! After a bad crash hour before this video .. So the electronics are a bit soggy in the beginning !!!

I am running the stock setup with a x445 with the tongue cut. 4S.
i got 44.5 out of it. no heat problems. Check your solder connections on the bullets. This is usually cause of wires heating. The 6s could also do it. The wires on these motors are a little small. Could us a larger gauge wire.

Anyone have any prop suggestions for the new Blackjack 29 v3? Has the 2000 kv motor
And 120 amp ESC. Running on 6s. Tried 4s and wasn't that fast out of the box. 6s way more fun and motor and ESC aren't getting hot after 7-9 min runs.
                              Thanks!!
