At stock width and my 2836 motor it will blow over quite easily. As the OP is asking what the biggest motor and ESC that will fit in is I assume he will be trying to go even faster. Adding front end lift is not the direction I would be going with that personally, but for a single lap or pass on a glass lake at dawn, I am sure it will be hella fast.

Am still trying to find out what I didn't sand off or something to that effect, I think your trying to say, sand off both front edges of the sponsons?? BTW Im just as anxious to get this in the water as everyone just wanna get it rightAttached FilesLast edited by riversidedan; 10-12-2015, 09:01 PM.Comment

There should be no over hangs on the sides of the sponsons. Only overhangs are on the back on the ride pads on the sponsons. Everything else should be even with the sponson, so sand off to be even with side of sponson. As a visual again, the white arrows point to where should be even with the sponson with no overhang. See post #102 also pointing to the same area. The only overhang should be on the back bottom of the sponson and the rear of the hull. Nothing on the sides anywhere.

Maybe you already know but that number refers to motor size only, if you want it to go in the mini sprint check mounting hole spacing on both the motor and motor mountComment

Yes a Leopard 2845 will just about fit, I think it will fit with the leopard jacket, but I am not 100% sure, I prefer the ones pictured below, they are a good bit smaller on the outside while having nearly as much water contact, half the weight too. 28mm Leopards have 16 and 19mm hole spacing, and the zip mount holes are 19mm so it will bolt right up. The supplied coupler is for 1/8" motor shafts however and the Leopard has a 4mm shaft, so you would need to purchase a 4mm motor/.130" flex coupler as well as the motor.
