Hobby King's Pod racer is close copy to Mini Cat Starship which is really a Tenchock product. I have The Starship and the Pod racer. These are my most favorite of all the mini's as its the fastest and easiest to drive adjust and come with self flotation. The Pod racer is MUCH cheaper but not cheaper in quality and runs the same at the Tenshock. These hulls really have less restriction than any others so you can get some really wild speeds if modified. Hope that helps!

Yes,I race for Atomik, but I don't recommend every boat. I haven't heard of a single person who wasn't absolutely thrilled with these boats..

Thanks Bill, my GF was looking to get her nephew a self righting boat because of where he runs it's pretty rough water and his current boat just flips over and he spends more time retrieving it than running.

What battery pack do you suggest?

Yes, I believe it may come with battery as well! Im running the 1100 3s Venom pack.. Yeah I was just about to say its a cute little package for your buck. Very forgiving boat for a kid. Self righting, water stays out without hatch tape, fast enough to thrill a seasoned FE guy yet nimble enough for a child..

I just saw on Utube that they sell them close to me for almost the same price as in USA. Big boys with cool toys. I tell the GF to grab one on her way by next time. Cool Bill and thanks a bunch.

I was looking and found some self righting boats from Nitro RCX but, this has a real flex shaft and the videos speak for themselves. It's a cool boat and maybe I'll have one some day.

I'll tell you Ray. There are at least 20 at my local pond. When guys bought these it spread like wildfire.
There are so many at our lake that guys have to use custom graphics because there will be another barbwire in the water on any given day!
Some of the resulting collisions have been funny : )

I love mine. Don't get to run her much, but she makes for a great loaner for ladies that stay the night and wanna' try a boat lol!
