I have a small nitro engine from a 1/16 buggy layin around, would it work for this hull?
It has a pull start and i have made a watercooling coil so that wont be an issueComment

All,
I have a nice motor I bought for an 609mm (24 inch) eco hull, lots of power.

looks like I wont be building it, so its for sale.

Depends how small it is, but an engine in these smaller hulls would be difficult to run mount and maintain, not ideal, this hull is pretty small. Even if you can get all that in there, it would make it heavy with a gas tank, and not perform as well. For smaller hulls you can't beat a brush-less setup.Comment

Back in the mid 90s there was a guy that I raced with who put a .12 watercooled glow/nitro engine into a John B Marine Sloopy, F2/F3 hull, he made a air filter type chamber from a 35mm film can filled with tissue that stopped the engine from breathing in water and it worked so well the engine would often still be running after a capsizing and self-righting, though the self righting was of the high rounded deck type and it self righted much faster than most of today's flood chamber boats, so I cant say if it would work as well with this one. Speed was pretty impressive as was run time for that time being a little faster and going longer than the modified 540 7cell 1700SCRC F2 boats of the time, probably about the same as an Eco Standard boat of today.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment
