15"Offshore Warrior mono further mods+ short run

I have one of the offshore woriers it's totally stock and on 3s it flys!
I am waiting for the drive shaft to fail.... what is needed to put in a better unit?
somebody sell a easy drop in replacement cable set up?

I have 2 Gecko's and both running smooth. One has the stock drive line that I straightened out by raising up the prop to be level with the hull bottom then lowered the motor as much as possible. My 2nd, I changed to a .098 Octura flex and looks to be even smoother. I'm running Neu motors, 1105-3Y and orig on 9.6V Nimh's. On 2S they're a little slower so might bump up to the 2.5Y or 4.5D.

Any recommendations for a good 2S motor? I really like the Neu's.

The two you are considering would be good choices IMO.

You may find 4400kv on 3s to much on an outrunner,You will also find problems with the mount not clearing the collar on the motor shaft. When using 28mm diam outrunner as i do you have to really secure the lipo as its very close to the revolving body of the motor ecsecialy going with higher c lipos as their that much bigger in size & sit close to the motor. Dont try using stock esc with any upgrades . Martin.

I am at the moment using a Mystery 2836-3800kv motor that i get from HK on Ebay. As for more speed motors are limited as to what you can get in the boat, Wait untill you try getting bigger motors in along with much larger esc & larger size lipos & youll realise how tight things are. Re going faster with the Warrior hull, Believe you me you will certainly need to strengthen the hull & hatch fitting in every area to withstand the impacts youll get. Ive practically destroyed the hull due to impacts & constant repairs. Martin.

I would say once you start getting to mid 40s mph you will need to fit trim tabs, The boat runs much better with them as speeds increase. Also check the rear 3" of the hull bottom for any hook ( concave curve ) as this sticks the hull to the water if the bottom is not flat in this area & slows the boat. Just use a ruler or something straight sat on the hull to see if theirs a hollow & fill if nesessary to get it flat. Mine did have a hook & filled it. Martin.

What do you suggest to fill and straighten the bottom of the hulls? I'm looking for something that's workable on these little hulls.

Auto body filler, Use the ones that are easy to sand & sand with a flat block of wood with the wet & dry wrapped around the block of wood so you get a nice flat surface & keep checking with a straight edge as you sand. If you still have slight hollows after sanding just put another layer of filler where needed & finish sanding. Martin.

I am also looking to upgrade the drive line on the warrior.

I noticed you used the OSE mini strut and rudder kit (oct-oc4str-cda?). With this rudder, does it handle any differently from stock? How do you find this strut and rudder setup? Are you using the teflon liner?

I am going to stay with the stock motor for now, what props would be a good choice?

You might want to try a 062 wire drive on those. What is the prop shaft size? I can also make smaller dia couplers for them.

When you fit an outrunner motor in the Warrior you have to make sure the battery is secured well as it is very close indeed to the spinning can of the motor. If the battery is allowed to move it will touch the can & ruin the battery by cutting into it.
