Domwilson, heres pics, powered up, this is how she sits. I also went to the pond and held the boat stationary and gassed it, just to see if the rudder was going nuts. It stayed tru.

Im going to agree with you fluid. Its 100% propwash. And Im thinking, possibly whats happening, is when Im setting the strut deeper, the prop isnt aerating the water as much and or able to push cleaner water across the rudder and thats why shell launch on a deep set strut? I dunno, it sounds good though.

And Im havin fun, runnin good or not, thats why its called a HOBBY right? If you never had to do anything it would be BORING

So let me ask again, with the last battery set up I last ran, running 2 2s 5000 in series, 14.8v, as long as things stay cool, am I ok to continue to do this. I hope so because the way it ran, turning or not, gave me that fuzzy, tingly kinda feelin. Got my mind off the handling issues at least for a bit.

Oh and fluid, Im guessing the waters about 90 ish. I will check it out tomorrow.

Ok got it. The rudder is definitely too short. Jay is right.

I think once you get the rudder part straightened out, you can play with the strut adjustment to increase speed and runtime.

It would sit almost 65 mm below the bottom most point of the prop in a verticle position. It looks as if I have plenty of room before the water inlet to remove some material to shorten it up. Also I can get it with a bracket that is half the distance of the other rudder recommended from OSE. With that said, does anyone have the dimension of this rudders mounting brackets contact area to the transom? Do you think it would work?

Hmm so your running offset, how deep is it from the prop.. or did you already tell me that somewhere???

It's around 1 3/4" to 2"

Ahh you posted while I was typing.

So if its 2 inches, the ose rudder is only about 10 - 15mm deeper, thats pretty close. Im sure if need be theres at least an inch to shave off it.

Do you think the mounting surface bracket height is 1" ish?
I may wait to order until I can get that confirmed...

NEVER MIND I answerd my own question. all I had to do was READ THE DESCRIPTION

If the rudder is 5.25 and the total height is 6.25, then the bracket height is... class, anyone, anyone.

Ub Hauled, all kidding aside, Im not sure if I had it posted on here or RCU.. I think it was RCU. 100% stock, the boat actually handle quite well. That is why this is all so frustrating. I could turn at full throttle and as long as I didnt let off, it would hold the line and turn beautifully 90 % of the time. What started all this was replacing the stuffing tube to a real deal. Still, the rudder is pathetic, but, I will give them credit.. it did work for all of 3 or 4 runs....

Oh and the screws that hold the rudder to the bracket... NOT STAINLESS. Cant figure that one out.

I think that after you get this all set and running good, you'll be buying a Feigao 9XL, An X442 prop and a good 120 to 150 amp ESC to make it run on 4s1p.

Subtle hints there....
