Here is a quick story about any firmware download, dont do it! Even if you have a Garmin GPS a download can go bad. A buddy of mine were out on a hunt in northern AZ , its dark and early in the morning , we get out of the truck, I have my GPS , he has his, mine is not updated, his is, he turns on his GPS and gets the signal strength, so I figure one GPS is good enough. We go out for the hunt for a few hours, and this was forest I wasnt familiar with, so after a few hours I ask him to turn on his Garmin GPS and it went FUBAR. The compass was spinning around in circles and we had no bearing or waypoint at all, so six hours later we did make it back to the truck. I do not trust any firmware download. Anyway I'm sticking with CC, I have a 240lv that has been pounded in the water, it has been soaked and crashed. I had some problems with the programing without the link, after the link programing it has been great, I have just a sport set-up in the Matrix and will only run 3s or 4s max. I have another 240lv on the way for the Zippkits FE.21 that comes out soon.
