No, and absolutely. B/c it'll basically be stationary.

Yes, my recommendation is to try something in between the SV27 and a big twin motor cat or mono. You are taking one very large step and there is much to learn between those two.

I do not have any experience with "big water" boats. But from what little I do know I think you should consider a gasoline powered boat. Wharehouse Hobbies does some nice larger RTR type boats and Expresscraft makes some nice larger hulls.

The issue with a big electric boat is the power requirements. Even to get 40MPH will take a fairly good sized motor, probably 10S packs and all of this is expensive to do, plus you will have very short runs times.

I'd do a gas boat if I was looking for a sport boat to run around in open waters.

i didnt think about run times.... i do have a weed eater engine in my garage that runs great. if i prop it right i could probally plane a 65" hull

Honestly, it would be far better to buy a purpose made marine gas engine rather than trying to convert your weed eater engine.

Check these guys out for RTR boats at good prices. And they make a very good product.

Rough water = APACHE,my 58" will handle anything thrown at it ,cats are not rough water hulls .

                      I would suggest a couple CC 1717's and 200amp or 240hv swordfish esc's on 6s.

Or if you are on a budget a couple Turnigy T600 1400kv and Suppo 200amp or T180 esc's on 6s. I know two of these can make a 47incher go 50mph so I am guessing they could get a 60incher to 40+.

My buddy is building a MHZ Kiton, which was originally designed to be twin drive. He plan to use two leopard 5692s to push this 57' hull. Can't wait to watch it running. Sorry if this is boat is not qualified to this thread for 57'< 60' as #1 requested.
