    Newbee needing help...

    The items in question are:

    Turngiy 80amp HV ESC

    and

    Turngiy 3656 2700kv
    http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...r_(WaterCooled)

As far as I know I can't use this combo, so I'm hoping somebody can guide me in the right direction. So I'm thinking if I buy the right motor and Ecs I have two "power packs", and a reason to buy a new hull.

So If anyone can give me a gentle push in the rigth direction, I'd be a happy boater very soon...

Jupp, forgot to add type of hull etc.
I'm currently building a 33" balsa/ply cat (plans from this forum).

I could use the 3656/2700 in a 3s setup, but I'd need a new Esc.
Or i could use the 80amp hv esc in a 4/5/6s setup and find an low kv engine.
Not sure what is the best way to go.

You could either get this esc:

or get a different motor. Cost is pretty close to the same. I would recommend buying a Feigao 1oXL motor from Steven at OSE.

I understand, no need to go hogwild on lipos...
3s lipo is something I have and need since i do rc planes and helicopter, so stepping up to
6s (3s x2) is within reach. And since I help out my LHS, I get a good discount on lipos.

Okay some questions ...what batteries with C and amp rating...sport or race running....what prop....what hardware..proposed run times. A 33" cat will need at at least a 12XL running on 5S or 6s with a high voltage ESC rated at 120 amps or more dependant on the prop

On 6S you might want the 11XL or 12XL. I only run 4S. I'm pretty sure the 10XL would handle 6S but a little lower KV might be better.

Oki, I now think know have an Idea for a setup
                              For my 33" cat I'm thinking an 11xl on 6s (3x 2s 5000mAh 30c)
As for a prop I run the numbers to FEcal, an it suggested a octura M435/3 or grimracer 36x55.
According to FEcalc the amp pull is around 50amps +-.
Am I going of the deep end here boys??
