Ok i got a 10turn motor from my 1/10th scale truck. I put it in my Graupner B-24 and i put a water cooling system on the motor. Well the problem is that the motor heats up so much the the wires come unsoldered(if thats how you spell it). Let me know if you need more info. Im new to boating and i need help.

How many cells are you running and what size prop? A 10-turn motor is too hot for a boat that size, particularly if you are running the stock prop. Boats are not like cars and trucks, you can't get away with low-turn motors if you want to run for very long - no/limited gearing, much more resistance, the prop creates a lot of drag on a motor. You will need to match the motor to the prop and cells you will be running. What do you want the boat to do, and with how many cells?

Well i run a 6 3700 cell pack and i dont know the prop size. i took my caliper and measured it to be 31mm in diameter. when i got the boat it had a mechanical speed control and and what i think is a 550 motor. It had no markings on the motor so i took it to my local hobby shop. what i want to do with it is just make it go a little faster with the stock set up the boat wasnt lifting out of the water like it should.Graupner B-24Comment

yeah you're right!
isn't it the same?
I managed to pull 40amps constant out of the Graupner one, not even warm!Comment
-
nope!
it's not a BB (no ball bearing), and it's not a regular one, the 700 Turbo C is pretty new, it is half way between high torque and high RPMComment

motor size isnt what it means, i think it means the # of turns the motor has....you could use any 500-700 on any brushed esc as long as it doesent pull more amps or exceeds the # of turns the esc can handle...saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

go for the 700SC or the Graupner one (depends where you are and what's the easiest for you to purchase) and a K45 or 51 propComment
