why not use an 8L then and go in the 35mm + range. you might be able to go more but I have never done a twin motor boat before, so I have no idea.
Possible change in plans

i was planning on using carbon props and the smallest they have is 40mm....
i could go 8L though....or a 9L on 8 cells....(will a higher turn motor on more cells have the same or more tourqe than a lower turn on less cells?)saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

yes. properly no.
in a hydro it will work BUt in a Vee it will notComment

ok...how about a 6XL? on 7 cells, would that have enough tourque....and what is the max amp draw of a 6XL? im worried that the amp draw will be too great that it will be too much for the batts to handle...3600's have a 10C rating...thats only 36amps...and how high is the amp draw on a 7XL? i could use 8 cells with a 7XL..saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

found out that the 8XL would be my best choice....it has 83 max load amps, so that will be easier on the batts...ill be using 8 cells per motor and i guess ill buy two of those hextronic 120 amp esc's....ill only be getting around 20,000rpms, but that will probably be more than the geared down titans the villain got...i know people have used 40mm props on 12-14 cells with this motor in the supervee, so im guessing ill me using props in the mid to high 40mm range? the reason i need to use 40+mm props is the smallest carbon props are 40mm and with the metal props, the smallest reverse rotation one that will work with a 3/16 prop shaft is 42mm....saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

you should just use that for the drifter man.......and have fun with your other boat60% of the time... it works every time!Comment

well, the SW36 is close to being finished, but i want to atleast build one more boat before i start the drifter...i think it will be the supervee since i already have the hull, motor, and esc...ill start the drifter after that....what i think i will have to do with the villain is buy parts with leftover money from purchases for the drifter.....saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

So the villain is a far off project then? I havent been able to get to the post office yet, due to my work hours, I guess it's not too big of a deal then. Hopefully will get it shipped this week though.
Tonite I'm finally building a stand for my villain, I figure with the amount of money in this boat, she deserves a stand, even though theres not exactly anything to break off.BOATS CAN FLY AND SHOULD!Comment

well, not too far of...ill be buying parts for it while im building the supervee as well as the dirfter...i should have some progress with it by the end of the summer...no, shipping it later wont be a big deal...saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

It's a 26" hydro for LSH or N-2 Sport.
I'll be letting the whole cat out of the bag shortly.
I setup and tested the first prototype last week. We raced four of them yesterday in Chattanooga, eight boats in the race. 1st heat we took the top three positions. 2nd heat, the top two. (lots of carnage in turn two of the 4th lap)
The boats run great, stay tuned.:)
