I was thinking in the range of 25 dollars if that sounds right to you. There are two holes on the bottom in the back where I had put some water pick ups. They did not work out so I took them off.

i was thinking since i cant get ahold of a villain hull, maybe i could try to do something similar with the caribbean cruiser....i just wish the Z drive didnt cost 200$...and the only other one i can find (MHZ) is 30$ more...im thinking of trying twin 600 Z drives...does that trinity monster motor have neutral timing? maybe i could try two of those...saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

ive seen that before....the vid is also on this site....
are the trinity monster 19t motors (the traxxas upgrade motors) do they have neutral timing?
could i use a single jeti navy 600 esc to control both motors? would it be too much for the esc?....could i use a Y harness to split the voltage of 14 cells to two of these trinity motors?saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

it turns out the CC2 hull wont work with an outdrive...in fact, it wont even work with a strut....i never really paid attention to this now, but on the transon, a large section of it extends outward an inch or so....it would be where the rudder would mount to...unless i use a strat shaft, since it doesent need a strut, i cant really do much to the hull unless i do some modding to it....
hmmm....this may be a perfectly good excuse to postpone this build for now and go buy that villain from NorthernBoater!!!:DAttached Filessaleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

The outdrives have a stiff piece of plastic holding them in place. If you were going to mod it I would use plywood instead. In the picture of the parts on tower you can see it, is the white part in the photo. This part will get brittle after a couple of years.
You may be better off taking the steerable drive off of the Blackjack and moding it to work on the villain. That just looks like it is better built. You could probally get it from someone that has modded the blackjack for a fixed strut.

no the emaxx motors are not neutral timed plus they are crap and wear out brushes and coms quick.if u are going to do a twin motor brushed set up forget the emaxx motors try these they are as long as a 700 but 550 dia. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...3-24_VDC_.htmlComment

hey saleens, if you need some parts for the villain, I will donate them in a second. I've got the outdrives, perhaps, not complete, because I scavenge, but I've got the actual drives, with the backing plates and some other parts. Pretty much everything else has been reused(stuffing tubes, gear boxes, shafts)
I personally think a single Z drive and a 700sc or a brushless would look and work nice.BOATS CAN FLY AND SHOULD!Comment

thats what ive been thinking too...a single graupner Z drive, but the cost for one is too great....i would gladly take the outdrives you have for the villain off your hands, as soon as my dad lets me...saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment
