    Is it me or what?

Anybody ever run into this? I have a video in the Video section of this forum on my Miss Attitude hydro going 80+ no problem. I made some prop adjustments and got 85+ out of it. Batteries where tired so i bring them home to charge , grab camera and my son , go back 8 hours later ready to blow 90 mph and now the boat hops like crazy and will not stay on water. I dont understand ......this boat stayed glued to the water at 80-85 and now flips at 60+. I have seen stuff like this all the time . One day or days everything perfect. The next time one disaster after another. The water was exactly the same. What gives? Is it me?

I had a boat do this. There were only 2 things that could have done it and since I fixed both at once I dont know exactly what it was.
        1. Check your turn fins. I know it sounds silly but one of mine had adjusted itself.
        2. Bent rudder. May not be easy to see but it took a tumble and bent.

I am no master but I know it did it to mine and these 2 things fixed mine. It was really bad in the corners. goodluck

Also if your rudder is kicked up slightly it will change the performance of the boat.

Ahh, I get what your saying... Yes it happens to me as well. In less than an hour once my boat was running ok then brought it in to cool and switch packs and go back out and the thing is a beast! Running faster than ever. Just depends on if the "big guy" wants you to go home happy or not!

Seems weird as well tho, I ran my UL-1 and got 60.5mph yesterday, ran her two times today and couldn't clear past 58mph.

Id say more than anything Whether and water conditions can make 6-10 mph changes in a boats speed...

                That's boating for you guys...
If there is a good amount of humidity, or water temperature, slight change in CG, rudder position, fin placement, a bump on the strut or if it sits on it too long so it shifts... there are endless possibilities. Even the simple fact that you may have picked up some weed during passes or most probably the GPS was inaccurate...

Strut Moved perhaps? I usually run an extra bolt through the strut bracket to prevent movement.

I dont run a turn fin so thats out. Water was totally flat and no wind. I was excited to see that coming over the bridge getting there because it is tough to get "great" conditions at the pond but lately its been great. I will really give the rudder a good look and the servo performance a good look. We took 3 videos and if you go frame to frame you see the right side start to lift while the transom starts to hop. MY BOAT HATES ME AGAIN This is why i cant enter a SAW event because of this . I thought it was behind me now im back to zero again. Tues i will put it in the water again and try it.

I believe that the number one suspect is the kickback rudder if it is so equipped. Other than that, keep in mind that the temperature of the hull itself could cause the hull to expand or contract. Also, if you run lipos, you may find that your runs will be more consistent if you warm them first. Do a search and you will find out information on this.

Meanwhile, I'm going to keep blaming free-radicals! LOL

Oh i learned after a while about lipo temp. I saw the boat would have mph swings of 8 mph from cold to hot. I have no way to warm them but i know if i can get them hot before there put in...i know the boat will go 90mph because im useing voltage up just to get them warm while running water. I will look into this rudder with a fine tooth comb LOL Thanks and i will keep you posted mabe tonight or tomorow.

Gary. I'd enter the SAWs regardless of this love hate relationship with your boat, chances are one of the experienced guys will solve the issue for ya... you seem to have a competitive boat according to GPS numbers, don't forget, it's different at the traps.

you could use a hot/cold cooler box that plugs into a cigarette lighter to preheat the lipos

They're fairly cheap too, especially for a smaller one.
