Gerwin, does that boat in the pics run well? seems it would have problems since the props are surface drive. How do they hook up when the rear of the boat is hydroplaning?

They do... the intended idea is to have a smaller rudder and have the "vertical wings" pick up the straight away stabilization... air has less resistance then water thus making the boat faster since you can have a smaller rudder.

I'm sure Ralf ( hull designer and shopowner) is morethan willing to sell overseas.

Here's a dumb thought. What if you placed the motors in the front sponsons and had the props exit from there as well?

Sven, that is one of the least dumb thoughts I have seen.
It has been a while since I had some of my mad ideas so here is the new one.
It is not entirely new as it had been discussed on another forum last year but never got past concept stage by the original author.
Here is the basic idea.
A rigger that is propped just aft of the sponsons.
1 motor in each sponson with shaft exiting through the rear to a strut on the sponson rear overhang.
Esc's will be in the main tub with the batteries and suitable gauge wire will be fed through winglets to the motors in the sponsons.
I am looking at 28mm dia outrunners for this as they can happily produce 200W each and 400W should be enough to get me up near 40mph
3500-4000 kv Outrunner + 3S + 430 = ?? I have a test hull that may give me some idea.
The rear will be loaded by the cg and will run on a single rear sponson with the rudder there too.
The concept is that it will be quite long so that I can get the rudder far enough aft of the props to ensure some longitudinal stability.
I'll run up a few pencil sketches tonight and then post them up tomorrow.
I can see already a few handling challenges but I am keen to have a crack at this just as I was with the Canard.
That has cleared 40mph and is very stable and flat, above that and things go wrong very fast.

I always wondered what would happen if you only put one motor in one sponson say on the right if you turn right and put the left sponson out a little farther than the right side ( you could always add the second motor later )
