    I finally found the problem.....

My BATT Ch on my Futaba FP-R122JE receiver only had 2 post and not three posts like Ch1 and Ch2. I have never used the BATT Ch so I am not sure how the post got broken. Before I go out and buy a new receiver I wanted to make sure everything else was set up and wired correctly so I temporarely hooked up my Traxxas receiver from my truck and as soon as I plugged everything in and turned the receiver pack. I immediately heard the beeb I was looking for from the Jeti and everything started to work - throttle and steering.

I want to thank Steve any everyone for the help!!!!

Glad your getting it straightened out. Did you try reversing the battery connector on the original receiver?

I have the 600 as well. When it says set to brake does that mean neutral position? And does the packs have to be hooked up to it as well in order for it to set up properly? Any additional help would be great. Thanks.

correct (pistol radio) keepa da pinkies off the throttle(nothing inherently bad will happen if you are at full reverse*...just that the motor will go to half thottle at the neutral point)
*provided that you followed the instructions and did not mount the prop for initial set-up
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in
