Help with Jeti Installation/Setup - no response from ESC

Sorry for the duplicate post, I didn't think I would get responses adding onto my 'Need a new ESC' thread...

I wired up my new Jeti ESC and I get nothing, no response, when I turn on the receiver.

I wired up the ESC to the motor, making sure to check the pos/neg wires, which I have rechecked again.
I wired up the ESC to the battery using a new Tamiya connector I picked up from a LHS.
I plugged in the standard J wire into the receiver box
Up to this point I believe I have followed the Jeti Instructions.

Per the instructions there is virtually no set up, set the receiver to 'brake' turn your receiver on and you should hear a beeb and the setup is done correctly. If you hear multiple or continuous beebs then the setup is not correct. Well I do not get any beebs or sounds.

I checked my batteries and they have a full charge, I then hooked up my old ESC that was malfunctioning to see if that worked thinking maybe my newly soldered connection to my Tamiya Battery connector was bad or maybe the bullet connectors I used weren't wired correctly. My old ESC works (not a lot of power - thats why I replaced it) but I get power to the motor. The only difference in the connectors on my Jeti are that the females going to the motor are the blue bullet connectors from Home Depot. The motor leads coming from the motor are red standard bullets that came with the Aqua Jet, I had these lying around so I used them since the fit is nice and snug. I would think even though those connectors are different that I would get some type of beeb from the ESC.

Is there something wrong with my installation or could there be something wrong with the Jeti?

What battery are you using to power the esc and reciever in the boat? Which radio do you have with the aquajet?

I could try my Novak Rooster in my boat or try the Jeti on my RC truck but I dont see how that would help...

Double check your, throttle trim setting, also plug in the motor first, battery pack in last. also it wont arm or beep if you have a weak reciever pack.

Sounds like you are not usings a receiver battery pack. The jeti doesn't have a bec circuit. You need a receiver pack.

Steve, you are saying I need a Product ID: dh-3170 4 Cell Receiver Pack which hooks into the 3rd slot on my receiver, right? If so that makes sense to why I am not getting any response, I will try this tonight and make sure my throttle trim is set correctly.

Thanks for everyones help, hopefully I will be sucessfull tonight and wont need more help.

I totally forgot about the receiver pack, I have one sitting in my R/C parts box. Neither my RC Truck or my old set up in the boat required a receiver pack so the thougth/idea slipped my mind....

Steven, still nothing... I plugged the receiver pack into the BATT slot on my receiver and turned everything on. Servo is in CH1 and the Jeti is in CH2. I turned the throttle trim all the way up and the batteries in the receiver pack are brand new.

What else can I check? I hate to take the boat to my LHS becuase I just don't trust them. Is it worth me sending the Jeti back to you to test and see if there is something possibly wrong with the ESC?

Does the rudder work at this point?

Did you start to hear the beep?

                        Can you post pictures?

Did you put the diode on in the correct direction? This will cause issues.

I haven't checked the steering, but I will. If the rudder doesn't work then that means the receiver is still not getting power, right?

                          Still no beebs at all

I can take some pics tonight and post them

I checked the diode and the grey stripe is on the (+) side of the motor and it is mounted on the inside of the tabs per the instuctions.

Question - I wonder if my receiver is going bad?

Correct, also swap the steering servo wire to the throttle channel on the receiver.
That eliminates the throttle channel being bad.

I can take some pics tonight and post them
                            That may help

I think it is also safe to say that the battery channel could be bad if I still dont get any power to the steering or throttle after switching the ch1 and ch2 wires, which leads me down the road of a new receiver.
