You'll have to bear with me here... Sort of new to FE. My first boat was a Hammer EP, then a Villain Ex which had water cooling, and CF props, then a SV27 for about a week (had issues).

      Any suggestions, tips, ANYTHING?

        MiniC vs Mini Rio

Hi, I suggest you take a look at the Apache 24 Catamaran made by Pro-Boat.

          Well...Why?

What does it have over these two? At that point I might be better off looking at the BJ26 as far as price range goes.

how much are you really looking to spend? Have you checked out minicatracing.com? they sell micro hydros, cats monos and riggers. top notch stuff, fiberglass hulls. the little mono hull is even self righting! P.S. hope I dont get yelled at by r/cprince again.

I recently picked up a Mini Rio and really like it. I changed the prop to the one that came on the SV27 and run 2s power. It seems to get faster the more runs that I put on it.

Doby put a brushless in his and it is crazy fast, (for the size). So much so, that it is a bit of a handful.

LipoPower has some pictures posted of both boats in action http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...php?albumid=65

I would suggest switching the prop and run it on a decent 20c 2s lipo, say 1500mah, and enjoy

Because it is a better boat. 24" vs.16" Better Hull design. The BL26 is 300.00 so I
do not know how much he wants to spend. Definitely I would go with the BL26 or
                a SV27.

Not much... I liked the thought of $100 and then slowly upgrading...

                  Only $40 more though?

So it's between the Rio, Apache 24, and http://www.minicatracingusa.com/vcat.html

What battery do they run on? Do i go for the cat or V? It looks high quality, but on the other hand it looks like a cheapo china boat?

Makes me wonder why it's so dang cheap!

Not cheap. The "V" is self righting, cat isn't. 2200 3S lipo.

Couple problems - The cat likes to flip a lot from what i've seen. Second, both boats look like they need some serious hatch taping on EVERY SINGLE run.
