    Set Up questions??

Well here is the hull that i am working with: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300268910685
And i have this ESC with the programming card:http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Boat_ESC

    1) What size bullet connectors do i need to buy for the ESC? I think they are 3.5mm

    2) How well will a traxxas 2056 servo work i this boat?

    3) Will my airtronics CX2P fm radio work in here?

    4) Should i get two 2s and run them in series? Or two 4s in parellel?

I think that is it so far.

    #1 5mm
#2 yes if it is a standard size servo
    #3 yes
#4 2s in series as you will want to run one pack down each side of the motor with the esc infront of the motor
you will probably need to run a 540l size motor as the 380 wont last long on 4s ,havent heard of anyone having any real sucess with the 380 motors in these boats

Ok, well for now i am just going to run the stock motor, then when i get more money i will buy a 540 sized motor. The batts i am looking at getting are 5000mah 20c 2s lipos. NNow what is the best way to hold these down? Velcro?

I would go for a 3s pack to suit the 2881kv motor better, that kv is too high for 4s in a mono unless its for SAWs.

Why is that too high? Will it just overpower the hull?

Becasue from what i understand brushless motors are good to 50-60K rpm. This set up is pushing 42K. But i could be wrong.

On 4s with that high of kv it could over work the motor and esc..

Oh, that makes more sense. So what risk would 120A esc have on this set up? I dont really care if the motor eventually dies i want to eventually put in a 540.

So woul it be better to run 2s? I woul probably put both batts in there, but when i run it only plug in one batt, this will help keep the weight even. Then when i get my 540 ill run them in series.

Si what would be a good fiego 540 motor? i was looking at the 9xl.

I agree with using a 3s with the higher kv

An 11L would work great on 4s in that mono!

Well now i have a problem. When i out it in the water i can see some large drops of watter coming out of the teflon tube, which goes inside of the brass stuffing tube. I beleive the leak is coming from where the teflon tube goes into the stinger. So how can i fix this problem. I beleive it is becasue the stinger has a larger opening than the OD of the teflon which is allowing water to get in there and flow up to other end of the teflon and drip into the hull.

You will get a little bit of water comming through the tube... make sure the shaft is greased up well and it should stop most and run better..

                            starting problem

                            Hello Guys;

I am just finishing my vegas conversion to brushless.I am using the aquacraft transmitter and the matching receiver (R100)which came withe the vegas. The esc is a hobbywing 90amp watercooled programable unit. When I turn the receiver on and then attach the batteries(lipo) the motor kicks in but when I pull the trigger back it stops. So the trigger works backwards which sucks. Before I do the elastic band trick,I am hoping someone can assist with this problem. This is my first conversion and most things went as planed.
So if anyone can help me,I would greatly appreciate it.
                            Have a great day
                            Al
