Not really too sure why felloe boaters seem to overlook my work, but its loads of fun, and yes I'll continue sharing these little rockets, and I have plenty more to come..

Its a shame the push was made a little over a year ago to make these boats and motors obsolete for any organized competition in the US, but they're definitely not to be overlooked..

BBY has some Awesome running boats in the "23" and under length..
The new BL motors and cells the car companies are putting out absolutely rip

With support from the FE community, these classes could revive the hobby as attendance is way down at FE events..

Car companies and media are doing a big push on boats promotionally

          Bill,

I think we need to setup some nets for you. One 3 inches below the surface and 1 foot from the cement walls of your pond. Sorry again.

It looks great on the water though!!!

Give us a week. This will be done

What do you mean it interferes with wildlife? At least it's electric and not polluting the water. Let me see if I can get any more negotiating factors...

Public space? the public can still use it...
I'm insured, what are you worried about?...
I've yet to hit a duck...I mean it didn't die...
              Etc... Etc...

                Well.....

I have no idea the history here and I really don't care what NAMBA or the IMPBA is doing.... just keep on doing what your doing! I have some small riggers that will run great on these motors! I have a lake right down the road and don't plan on driving 5 hours just to race boats under those other restrictions.

                thanks again,
                Steve

There's definitely some good to that..
One of my very biggest infuences was Trent Hare.
He ran Novak speedos, He ran 05 and brushless 05 motors
He was the first guy to run Castle speedos in a boat

He proved himself as a racer, and could care less what others thought of what he ran

Ultimately the rules of racing drove him out.. Although he could pick up a transmitter and run circles around just about anyone at will, he shyed away from racing and now I see why..

                  Your comments are inspirational Steve.
I'm buying a new wetsuit today and searchin for that vessel even though its 50degrees outside.

I've got a little rigger that brings home the paycheck on 2s..
She hits like 80+mph on 2s

I'll get her rigged up and have some vid later this week..

If you don't find it Bill, let me know. I've got some military guys that work with me that have a network of contacts. I'm sure I could arrange a diver to come out in your area and help you if need be and maybe recover some other stuff!

                    Just trying to help.

                      Hi Bill,
There is some new stuff on the market called "Floation". It works real well, lasts forever, and is cheaper than a wetsuit!!

                      Good luck with the salvage!!

If I don't get her, the yes I'll try your way..

I really like the boat, I did hours of blueprinting, and strut settings, as well as ballancing to pull that little sucker off.

One of my fave boats of all time. It taught me a lot about cats..
I'd love for a diver to find my BBY micro hydro of 2 seasons ago..

Its at Spreckles Lake in SF, CA an rc dedicated pond that was built in the 1890's!
It was around long before Radio Control and old guys as well as their grandsons still run push boats and free-sail! I saw a 3-generation family out there gramps, father and son as a tradition that was passed down from their great grandpa'!

There's a a model maritime museum on the facillity..
I've finally gained the respect of the old timers (scale and sail).
                        They realize I can drive now, and won't T-bone them @ 50+

They now can enjoy seeing my boats streak, instead of snarling, scoffing, and just plain shouting out "Get outta' here ant-mole!" LoL..

Oh crud.. I knew they'd find me..
Someone who's seen me hold up good water at an event while my flotationless boat is searched for..

Ok guys, I promise I'll start running float, especially at events. Doug's right.

Only problem I've ever had with foam is I've dealt with some hull volume to weight issues that allowed a boat to suspend itself mid depth in the water further allowing it to drift far from the crash site, and basicly just keep drifting about the pond never to be recovered again..

My home pond (spreckles) is only 4.5 feet deep in most spots, so I take the all or nothin' approach.. If I sink I like to plunge straight down.

My diver made the mistake of teaching me how to landmark crash and plumitt sites. Since then I've been successful at every recovery and havent needed him @ 125 bux an hour LoL..

Just for the sake of accuracy... there has been no "push" in NAMBA to get rid of these boats... N1 and M2 are still on the books and are legitimate classes in NAMBA... so the "Organization" isn't the issue...

What is an issue is that these classes (especially N1) are a LOT of work and a LOT of $$$ to go SLOW... M2 is hampered by a lack of available ESCs for the low Voltage...

For less money, and far less work... one can build a nice N2-Mono or LSO/LSH boat... go WAY faster, do FAR less maintenance, and have better competition... all in less than ideal running conditions, if need be.

So, at least on NAMBA's part, it's not the organization that has pushed to relegate these classes... it's the lack of participation. People aren't flocking to run in these classes... They ARE, however, flocking to classes like P-Spec OPC, or LSH/LSSO, or Spec SV27...

If we want to increase participation, then the real solution is to SIMPLIFY the classing structure by offering FEWER power choices, and getting more people into fewer classes. At least that's my humble opinion, from someone who has been there with the N1 stuff... And still have it on the shelf waiting for the next opportunity!

There's nothing like triangulation to find something subsurface after the fact

I wish we had a pond dedicated like that around here. But we'd also need lights for night-time running
