I'm keeping an eye on this thread for when someone brings actual size vs size results

I run 0.15" flex cable, it handles the torque well. I did broke several flex cables but it has been proved been my fault, after reinforce the holding stands for the stuffing tube, the cable never broke again.

a 36x80mm Medusa is more than enough for a 29" Cat, go for it. with decent config and adjustments, you can expect to go over 100km/h with this motor.

Sorry for the metric units which is my only familiar measure system.

thanks Himalaya, I don't need to go 65+ so maybe the 3680-1600 would be a better option for my cat. Thanks again for your help and no worries on the metric calculations, I have a metric calculator on my laptop.

Dino, I don't think that your boat needs a bigger motor, why you think so? If you want more speed try 5s.

One additional thing I wanted to clear up re. the medusa, they are NOT assembled in China. I asked that question specifically yesterday of the owner and he was infatic about that. He said they are not assembled in korea, china, india either. Don't know why he keeps it such a secret but would not say where.

                      An answer.

Well they graciously took the time to reply and just as I said...

                      "Steve,

We get the various components fro the motors from all over the world.

The only thing we get from China are the magnets.

Yes, we do all the design work and everything is made to our specifications.

                      Regards,

                      Jeff Little

These motors are made from outsourced parts and built by offshore labor...only the design work and specifying is done here in the USA.

Now none of this was to try to discount these motors quality...just an effort to clear the smoke from the room...

I am quite serious that the 3680 in any form will be too much for a boat that small. I don't believe you will be able to open it up full throttle on 4s and a kv of 2000. The 3670 will be a better match in say 2300 on 4s.

Neu magnets are outsourced from China also. Would bet the wire is not usa either. Labor is US but who says the US has a patent on building good bl. motors. Plettenberg, and lehner are not made in the US either. Etti escs are not made here either, in fact I bet they are made in China with a european name put on them.
The main thing in outsourcing is QUALITY of parts that are used. Quality control is the key in picking the materials.

                            Food for thought

Awesome, I have NO experience with these motors so I do appreciate the input. Just want to do this right, don't need to turn the pond into duck/turtle soup
