    2.4ghz from Tower Hobbies $79.00!!

Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

I came across this today at towerhobbies. Available late May.....anyone hear about this radio system yet? 2 channel, and very affordable...but 2.4ghz. could it be worth the money? I believe it is identical to the already available "tactic" system also sold at tower.
Another question...how would this system compare to a Futaba 2Pl FM. about the same price...and I am looking for a solid middle of the road radio. Anything NOT AM.
    Thanks in advance

            Tactic TTX240

The Tactic TTX240 seems to be earning a good rep with FE boaters as an inexpensive 2.4 tx.
It's got my interest as a "cheap" way to try out the new technology ...

Having said that, the tx has been on back order at Tower since I've begun looking to buy one – 4 months ago
and the "arrival date" at Tower has been delayed / pushed back a number of times ...

In the meantime, just ONE showed up on flea-bay
and sold for @ NEW price ...

            Still waiting.

I have one that came with my UL-1 and it's a great radio. It feels a little on the cheap side but it does what it was meant to do, and it does it very well.

Not to mention the rx is only about $25.00!!!! Go and try to find a futaba am rx for that price, than add in a crystal. $25 is a deal.

My spektrum worked just fine in a carbon hull. But what I did was to drill a 3/4 inch hole where I was going to exit the antenna and then filled it with fiberglass. Never a problem with it. The antenna was out of the hull by slightly over 5 inches.

hmmmm....my Titan 40 only had CF on the floor about 75% of the floor........I put my rx in the rear corner and fed the antenna out a small 1/16th hole with a small mount there and the antenna sticks out the hull about 4"

had nothing but problem so far loosing steering and a runaway boat...luckily it crashed in the shoreline at about 15mph cause my throttle would go no faster

I purchased an extra 2.4 Tactic receiver from OSE to go in my Rigger Insanity. Receiver is easy to bind to radio, simply cut on Tactic Radio, Plug in your batteries, then press the bind button on Tactic receiver using a pointed object. Red light on receiver will appear when ready. Do this far away from someone elses Tactic radio or it may bind with their radio if theirs is turned on also.
