Which bare hull is lighter? I'm assuming the VS1 is lighter, but I can't find any documentation that gives a weight of the bare hull. The only weight I can find is "4lbs ready to run" which could mean a lot of different things.

The weight I find for the TS2 is 2.11 lbs for the bare hull.

I already have a TS2 (electric) but it seems pretty heavy (even with lipo packs). Is the VS1 significantly lighter? I may move to one of them if it is.
I never weighed the VS-1 bare hull but I'm sure it's lighter. It corners totally flat, whereas the TS-2 hops somewhat in the turns no matter how I've tried to trim it. At WW V there were lots of both hulls in the heats and the TS-2's did win some heats, as did the VS-1's. If you're going for ultimate top speed [ no pun intended] the TS-2 will likely hang in there easier; I'm going to rig my modded-bottom TS-2, the silver one in the picture, for a P-OPC SAW record trial in August.

I've run a couple races with my VS1/UL1 combo. It's very fast and handles fantastic. I've got it running in the low 50's, right there with Darin's woodstuff/BJ combo. It draws 2200-2300mah for a full mile race and mill. It's 3/4lb lighter than my TS3 and acts like it.

It doesn't seem to care what lower unit you use, I'm running a Hyperformance Bullet Drive and my racing partner has an REK on his. Equally fast but the bullet drive may have a handling advatage with the larger skeg.

The best prop I've found so far is a 42x55 back cut .090 at the hub and cupped up to 3.75"
