Only if you use a ton of it, the spray will NOT totally protect your esc or rx. I've done actual dunk tests. Esc's and rx's will run while under water with an epoxy coating, they will not reliably with the spray. But I agree that if you are worried about heat, use the spray. Just dont count on it being water proof, just water resistant.

I don't like spray either. I bought one quart of this stuff in a jug. It is useful for dipping ends of LiPos to waterproof them. I brushed it on my receiver board and it went diving couple of times. This coating can be easily removed with acetone and a tooth brush. It's also flexible and allows circuit boards and components to expand without cracking.

The reason epoxy worked better on your receiver could have been due to frequency your RX is made for. If it's 75 Mhz or 27 Mhz, then having extra thick insulation kept water further away from tuned circuits on your RX. This helped to prevent de-tuning of your receiver due to water's conductivity. On my 2400 Mhz RX, tuned circuits are so small that thin silicone coating is enough.

Also, I would like to add EagleTree boat wireless logger with 300A current sensor to my items wanted list i posted earlier. I found that V3 logger even with 150A option is not big enough to use in large electrics.

I would 2nd the idea of NEU batts. They have some new ones you can charge at 5C. PolyRC's are good but too expensive and I HATE the way they treat the balance wiring as well as the Thunderpower tiny balance plug.

Hobby city is doing very wel I think. All the zippys they bring (500-700?) they are all gone within a month or less. This is from what I see on their site.
