Let me elaborate there is nothing to hook a hose up to out side. In an emergency I can use the hose from my python(fish tank vacume, other hobby) attached to the sink in the kitchen. It looks like the guys are holding it @ the highway for the moment. But it has jumped the last 2 roads it has come up to. This one is 4 lanes...we may have a chance.

i hope everything turns out ok....i live about 5-10 minutes away from the 'glades, so i get a lot of ashes and 2-3 days of nothing but smoke whenever theres a fire, in facr, its still a little like that now, that will block out the sun, but those ashes in the 3rd pic look many times worse that what we get...

              Ringgold Town Fire

I dont know if you heard about the Ringgold town fire on January 1, 06. It burnt down most of the town. I was there at my fathers house when it came through with 40 mph winds and 5% humidity. I filled up about 15 - 5 gallons buckets of water right before they ran out of water, to help save his house. I used wet towels to fight it..... Luckily I wet down the roof before it got there. SO SJFE get some buckets full of watrer and towels. Better than nothing.

Oh man, wet the whole exteriour/roof of the home the best way you can, usually the fire passes through fairly quick.

Things are looking a little better this evening. We almost lost public works today(my work). The fire swep through and the buidings had to be evacuated. Managment where all sent to a neer by parking lot. We where out on the road. I was positive my car had burnd up by the smoke we could see from our the area we where picking up today. We where lucky the staging area for the fire trucks was 1000 feet from the shop...lol. The wind has turned for the time being. They claim the fire is 30% contained. We need some rain. We are packed and ready to go if need be. I think we maybe out of the woods.:)

One of the F16s from the 177th air guard was coming off a bombing run on the range. While jinking he released flares and chaff. One of the flares ignited the under brush. It happens.
