Not lookin good. Not a boat thread.

It would seem we have a forest fire baring down on our development( witch is in a wooded aera). The winds are 25 to 30mph from the south, south west and the fire is directly down wind. I am hoping it dont cross the Garden state parkway. If it does it will burn every thing in its path untill it hits the bay with this kind of wind @ it's back. We are making a list of what goes & stays shortly. Child, cat, Documents, pictures, computers oh and the boats....:D. You have to be able to retain your sence of humer in a situation like this. Besides we are insured.
    Wish us luck,
    Tom

Thanks guys. All we can do is wait now. The senior operators are already at work digging fire lines. The 2 out of the 3 developments to out south east have been evacuated. I would imagine the fire fighters have made a line @ the GSP and are setting back fires. The ash is landing on the cars out side. There goes the finish...lol. I will stay online untill they tell us to leave. I may just send Rach over to the island.

I snapeed some pics and took a video clip. The fire is about 5 miles away now. Thats ash along the curb.

Fire 4 to 5 Miles away.

    Local News

We are still here guys!!. The fire is covering over 30 square miles now. I spoke with the fire chief a little while ago and he stated there is not chance of containing it with out rain. We are safe for the moment due hard work of the fire fighters who worked all night setting back fires. The wind will be picking up this afternoon with gusts to 50mph. NOT GOOD. It took me 30 minutes to drive 3 miles to work this morning. I had to use my emergency services ID to get past 3 road blocks. I will try to get back on after work and let you guys know how we are making out.
    Thanks for the support,
    Tom & Rach

Not good news Tom. Before you leave, climb up onto your roof with the garden hose & sprinkler. Lash it down to the highest point on your roof, & turn it on!

Man that stinks ...that gook most likely would be toxic to breath in... I would stay as far away not in the smokes direction as possible to breath in fresh clean air.
            Good luck

Tom, the embers rise, then fall a distance away on rooftops, catching them on fire. Unless you have a tile roof, wet it down!

I would love to....We don't have a hose. The grass is watered via a system...no washing the cars in the lots....sucks.
