I have seen three explotions from nickel batteries and not one from Lipo. We all know and have seen the idiots on you tube blowing packs on purpose but in the real world with common sense ( seems to be lacking in some) Lipo packs are very safe to run, charge properly, run with correct lipo settings and they will reward you with 100's of runs ....

Due to an accidental oversight in providing firewood to illuminate the nightime festivities at the last FE Nat's at Lake Minden, an anonomous Gentleman racer mistook a slightly puffed 10S pack for a 2 x 4 , hammered a nail into it, and provided some charming illumination and warmth for the evening's revelry, allowing the tired racers to bathe in it's soothing glow !

Simon, you will love LI-PO batteries and they are safe as long as you abide by the AUSSIE RULES and not rugby instructions!!!This is the best thread I have read yet regarding Lipos.
I have been holding off on them because I have scared myself by reading so many things about these " dangerous" things.
I apply common sense to many things and am known to be cautious at times.
I think I can handle lipos.
Seriously, these batteries are great and you will not go back to NI-MH

Aussie rules , rugby, league, It is all B0llocks. If the ball is not round I am not interested.
I am saving my pesos for the next round of FE purchasing and that will be Lipos and a suitable charger.
I will go 5000mAh 25-30C and get a charger that was reccomended to me.
As far as charging, monitoring + saftey is concerned I am good to go there.
Even now with my Nimh packs on anything above 1/2 C I am in the workshop and will occasionally duck out for a fag, but they are realisticly under consatnt supervision.
I am happy to see that it takes a nail driven into them to possibly make them go boom !!.......and as we have seen even a nail may not do it.
