I believe many of us have upgraded their control systems to 2.4 ghz. As I have read, the Furuno 3PM is successful, the Spectrum so so.. Has anybody used any other system with successful results? There are some chinese ones (30-50$) and just wondering...

the one that you can buy from AQ seems reliable to me, I have used it once and have friends that use it all of the time w/o a hitch... it's VERY cheap as well. you can find it at Towerhobbies and here (in a few days).:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

Im looking to get a 2.4 system also, on the cheap I hope.
How do you use that strange aircraft style for the boats?42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)Comment

Are either of these ground frequency? Also, does anyone have exp. with them??
If so can you share that with me.
I am much better at driving with a stick as it goes back to my younger years in boats before wheels. Plus I am left handed and would need one I can switch the sticks on.

Curt, I am not sure how it works w/ the 2.4g realm... they are all 2.4! i have never heard of these
radios before, but one thing is for sure, one way or another, you get what you pay for... there are cheap radios and CHEAP radios if you get the drift.
You'll need a mode 1 stick (instead a mode 2) the sticks are reversed.
I believe in mode 2 the throttle is on the left and steering on the right,
mode 1 would be the opposite.:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

As far as I know the good thing with 2.4 ghz is that you can never have any interference from ohersTwin Cat 135, Sprintcat40 (single-twin), DF 35", Maritimo, Mean Machine, SV 27

From AQ you mean the one at 30$ or the one at 50$?
For the one from hobbycity they say in their discussion
Mode 1 throttle on the right,
Mode 2 throttle on the left.

A good "traditional' 2.4 ghz is the futaba 6EX which works well in boats. It has six channels. This one

I read that site data on the above system and it says it is an airplane not ground system.Comment
