    Quest. about solid drive shafts

    Is it possible to use the solid drives in a cat with a S bend stuffing box ? Hmm ? thanks

    How would a SOLID shaft BEND?? Most use the slightest bend possible.

        By solid drive shaft, are you referring to the piano drive steel wires? If so, I found them to be more trouble than they're worth in small cats with just a single bend, because it was too severe. I can't imagine an S bend setup would even be possible.

          Chris, the simple answer is "NO". unless the S-Bend is very shallow and over a long length the wire will fail. Also the larger diameter the wire the higher the likelihood it will fail.

            Your talking about a wire drive, correct? I suppose it depends on how drastic the s bend is.
