It's refreshing to see someone work on a project not aimed at 70mph on this forum.

One reason I was shying away from brushed motors was if I ever wanted to speed up the boat. If I went brushless I might not have to buy all new electronics. But after thinking about it, I would probably have to do that anyway.

I want the boat to be fast, but it doesn't have to be insanely fast. Maybe if it's slow, it should be able to drop a depth charge or shoot a torpedo.

Hmmm... but I keep getting this nagging thought.

I have used Mack Marine power units...motors and gearboxes and their drive hardware. Very good quality.

methinks that a pt boat is probably good to about the low20s before you need to use trim tabs. that said, a pair of feigao 380 12L motors would fit and not produce insane speeds.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

Your right Steven, Put in twin coke can sized Neu motors, a 240 hydra and 20,000mah 6S packs should do well in that PT boat

Well personally I would opt for the Hydra 180 hv and run 10s packs at a lower amperage.

I have used their stuff for scale projects. They are straight-up.

My vote would be for the 310 Baracuda. That is one beautiful boat.
