Yes, there were two great cells that lasted over and over and over....GP3300 and IB3600

After a month of waiting the package finally came. I ordered two packs(Intellect 7.4 5000mah 2s2p Lipo's) and they only sent one, extreamly pissed. On the other hand its a beutiful pack, 4 cells and a really nice semi hard coating around the cells. Came with a deans plug. I cant really test it except in my VXL and it kicks butt in there. Hopefully they make good, I just had to put in a complaint with paypal, so I guess the great deal even though the pack looks nice is more of a PIA then anything.Comment

Well
that's a shame.

If this is a 2S2P pack 7.4V with 4 cells in it (All in one)
How many wires are on the Balance plug?????????

There is 3 wires and it balances like 2. so I am not sure if that is great. I can say I tested them against the 5350 Poly packs and the IB packs are producing a little more then a 1/4 volt threw the whole 20 min test. To soon to really say if there good or not but they do seem good so far, but will they pass the test of time

They have used a stack of smaller mah, likely cheaper cells, wired in parallel to come up with the 5000mah total... I'm guessing that you'll find that that is two 2500mah 2S packs, wired in parallel... The balancing is also likely balancing 2-cells together on each side... In other words... is 2S4P of 1250mah cells...
This seems to be the way that cheaper or less mainstream pack sets are being built... Still works I suppose... Did you measure the actual voltage???Last edited by Darin Jordan; 01-09-2009, 05:27 PM.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

I took voltage as whole packs not individual cells. My bar pulls approx 30 amps, here are some of the numbers at 1 min 8.10v for the Intellect pack and 7.70 for the Poly pack, at 5 min 7.70 for IB and 7.50 for Poly, 10 min 7.50 IB and 7.30 Poly, 15 min 7.34 for the IB and 7.16 for Poly, then the poly went under 7v at 18 min so I stopped the test the IB was still at 7.2 v at 20 min.Comment

Wow... more detail than I was asking for... It's just over 8V, so that means it IS a 2S pack... They have done as I said... it's a 2S4P pack of 1250mah cells, totalling 5000mah.
That'll work fine, though technically, it's not NAMBA legal for racing due to the stupid paralleling rules... (shouldn't be any restrictions, but let's not go reopen THAT wound!)
Will work fine for sport running. Tough to balance the individual cells... I think my guess is right there as well... they are balancing the two 2500 mah sub-packs as one cell...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

You are right... I'm off a bit... They have taken two 2500mah packs (each pack contains 2-cells wired in series) and wired them in parallel to get 5000mah... I'm not sure how they are balancing this correctly, but obviously, they aren't balancing the individual cells... Likely they are balancing each "pack" as a whole... so each pair of cells are tied together.
It's not unusual for a pack to "take" more charge than it's rated for... Some of this is energy lost to heat in the charger or often, then cells can take a tad more than their rating... I wouldn't worry about that part...
You'll need another of these packs, however, if you are going to run that UL1...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

There rep got my second pack to me fast, like maybe 4 days. Seeming a good company but just so far away. Anyway I had some time to play around with these packs. There are 2s2p and I kinda like the idea. 2 Cells is good to but 4 just seems more solid. I like the weight and my 5000's are more, I would say pretty much more at least 5600 packs but much more then 5k. Its seems odd to have just 3 wires for balancing but so far it seems ok but in a future if I get another 2s2p pair I want a tap on all of them. I have run them and they sing.Last edited by ice329; 01-26-2009, 08:30 PM.Comment
