Wow! That's a lot of prop for the setup.

not much of this statement is accurate but, ok.

I am smart enough not to mount that huge prop and hit the throttle full boogie. but, I could mount it up and get it up on plane and see what it does. I said, it just for fun not trying to go 94mph

I got readings as low as 49 amps at full throttle with my set up with a 52mm X 1.6" prop two trips out. The water was loose not flat and the boat was running real dry and fast 68mph. awesome day.
last time out with same set up on flat water the boat would not come loose from the waters grip and it was drawing 275 amps for brief milla seconds on the data log and going slow 58pmh

49A wide open...esc data is inaccurate. I would use a different tool for data acquisition.

              Will do.

this is a data log from the run I mentioned. It was running killer until the flex shaft failed and you can see the data logger shows when that happen. temps shot up, amps shot up, pulled over 7000 watts 348 amps , 237 F …………….

I have run my Twin HPR 06 with success ....with SSS 4082 2200KV at 7S with X+ 200amp and prop 2014-17-45 ...Every thing was pretty much cold after the run

And the same boat with the same motors WITH Flycolor 150amp (OSE Raider) at 6S HV and prop X457 cutdown to 53mm...Esc's was almost 55'Celcius temerature...

I also run my 33.5' delta with Neu 1521 1900kv at 7S with Swordfish Pro+ 200amp and prop 1814-17-45....Results...89.5 mph..
Below is the Delta run at 7S

I am going to try 6s on same set up and compare the numbers today.
Going from 5s to 6s on same 1750kv motor and prop. See if amps come down with more volts.

My guess would be opposite, considering that you're using the same prop. I'm looking forward to your results.

I don't have any real experience either but from what I read supplying more volts reduces the amp draw

You running the boat today to see what happens?

just got back from the pond.

                            4 minute run on 6s / 1750kv / x652

It did draw a little more amps but, not much. the data logger says it banged over 300 once but don't see it in log. it ran 250 to 280 amps at 100 % throttle.
the rpms are up of coarse but only 29k

                            6sdatalogseptember14.jpg

I think the idea of a larger prop is out but, what about a smaller prop and more RPM?
I may try 8s with my x546 prop tomorrow
