The Amps that you mention are the max.Amps that your batteries can deliver and not the actual Amps of your setup. The only way to find the Amps of your setup is to use an Eagle tree system or the OSE method:
      http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/conversion.htm

My proposal is not to take the chance with the Deans and use the bullet connectors (4 or 5.5 or 6 mm). I also changed to bullets because my Deans were getting hot (not melted) at about 70 amps. Also you see that the contact area of a Deans connector is smaller than that of bullet.
To avoid short circuit and wrong polarities you fit a male bullet on the red(+) and a female on the black(-) with heatshrink tubing. In that way you cannot have short circuit or confuse positives and negatives. An on the ESC you fit a female on the red and a male on the black and if your cables are long enough you can plug as mentioned above. If the cables are short then you will have to make a harness. I will add a photo if you like.
What about the deans already came with lipo batt? Do you replace them with bullet connectors?

Photo with lipo series connection please. Thanks

Yes I replaced them with bullet connectors. I cannot locate this stuff now (maybe in my summmer house) I will post photos when I get them. Meanwhile please find photo from Fluid, but this is for parallel connection. Here is also the thread on the same subject from the experienced members:

In that parralel harness you see that for the ESC he uses Female for red(+) and Male for black(-). In the batteries he uses Male for red(+) and Female for black(-).

This is the best I can do for now as I just got the ESC and need to work on the connectors. I also use rubber caps on the male ends that are meant for bolts. I get them from the hardware store in the fastener section.

              Ok Tony,

Here are the photos for the series Y harness with 4mm bullets for the batteries and 6mm for the ESC. The ideal is to have 5.5 or 6 mm for all.

I am sorry but you have this wrong,
The rule of thumb for DC power is; "RED HOT FEMALE"

Batteries: Red - Female, Black- Male
ESC input : Red - Male, Black- Female
                  ESC output: - Female
                  Motor Input: - Male

One of the main reasons for this is, when you are installing your batteries in your
boat, If the positive lead touches any thing in the boat be it motor, ESC. or anything conductive, you do not get a short.

If you have a Male connector on your battery positive lead, you are looking for trouble.

I didn't know that. I will follow your advice and redo it.
