Thx for the video.....Doby I like how your tool box is set up! I especially like how you have items Velcro (I'm assuming?) to the bottom of the lid nice idea!

Still shaking off the winter hibernation blues, as B.C. had the worst winter and spring I have experienced in 48 years after getting off the boat from Scotland.

Well I guess this has turned into a quick rebuild. I did not like the cheesy servo linkage and I didn't like how far the brass was from the collet and it wasn't at the correct angle to line up perfectly.

Ripped the brass out. Replaced it with a smaller diameter one (stock one has a cheesy little piece of Teflon tubing that will eventually get wrapped around the flex and cause a headache) for less drag.

How bout free handed gluing, no tape to make it perfect but it's pretty close to it.

It had Velcro for the battery. Now I love Velcro but I just don't think this is an elegant solution to secure my battery.

                  But this is.

Intersting weight for the hold down on the battery tray, looks like the same ones that came with my Harbor Freight Press. Looking foward to how the boat progresses.

                        Agreed

Doug caught my eye about winter, but I have been wondering what you were going to do with this Travis.

Well originally I was just going to sell it as is. I'm building a boat for someone right now (speaking of which I need to pm you about it) and I took this boat in on credit so he didn't have to pay as much out of pocket. I was thinking about keeping it but honestly I need to sell it to buy a for parts for two boats I'm building right now. I sold my mini Rivercat a couple weeks ago to fweasel and he sent me his hull so I could build me another. I need a few more parts for it and I want a new sf220x and sf300x when they are available. I finished it today and I plan on running it tomorrow and maybe next weekend when we go camping and then it will be up for sale. I was going to put that tp motor in it but I think it may have too much power for it. I put a 1650kvvoracity motor in it with a 150a ose raider esc and a hitec servo. Ifit don't rain I'll run it tomorrow

Here some progress pics. I'm happy with how it turned out. Simple yet clean and functional.

                            New brass

Here's how I mounted the servo. Yea, a tie strap ain't gonna do it for me. I don't like steering slack.

                            Epoxied some screws in place

                            Then screw these in place

Then it mounts like this. Notice how thick the steering rod is.....I don't like flex or slack

                            Here it is completed

                              Looking good.
The Popeye was been one of my favorite hydros. Had some fun times with mine. I'm sure you are the same & have some boats that you wish you hadn't sold. This is one of mine.
                              I think the final setup in mine was a 4074 2200kv motor & a Y547 prop.
I also added a couple of ride pads on the sponsons to get them square & level.
Looking forward to seeing yours running.
                              Cheers.

Thx. It started raining before I had batts charged so I didn't get to run it. I was gonna try it with a 1715-17-45 abc first.
