    Hi Mark,

It looks like yours is a newer version. The one I was running was an older version that had deeper tunnels (more air). In the process of updating the hull, I actually filled the tunnels slightly more than originally suggested (anther 1/16" or 1/8"). I don't recall having any major issues with the boat blowing over. I am not saying it didn't blow over; but it didn't happen very often. I will also say that my boat wasn't a 70mph boat. I was heat racing at mid 60's.

Mine has a sticker that says made in 2008. Mine will run on a pillow of air where the sponsons are a 1/2 off the water and will ride that way until it blows over in a gust of wind. It doesn't do this if it's glass water out. My boat also hops very bad when I take off and only smooths out when I go full throttle. One of the things we also notice was my SS turn fim I got from Mike L is warped. So it looks like it is trying to make the boat go left and I'm probably having to give a little right and that could be a problem too. I shimmed it over a little and that seemed to help but you can still see the warp in the fin. It looks like it might have got warped when they welded that second piece of SS. Where can I get another turn fin you guys like.

That's a good idea to shave off the traps. I wish I would have thought of that. As for the turn fin, I'm sure Mike L or Kevin would stand behind it if you contacted them.

Mark it does sound like your hull is grabbing too much air plus the hopping could be either the prop / prop setting / c.o.g. the turn fin should not have any warp atall so maybe you should toss it and make up another fin from some 1/8 inch aluminium with the same shape as that warped one. i can,t really comment too much about your particular hull as i,ve only run large size gas powered sport hydros which do not have any bad habits like your experiencing with this one. so try a non lifting prop set parralell to hull bottom, replace the turn fin and move the battery pack up closer to nose for abit more forward c.o.g. and see how she runs then. just my thoughts .
