whats your run time like, would you say that this boat is heavier than the SV or NS2 hulls. if you ran these boats with the same system which will perform better

I have never run a ns2, but as far as the Titan and SV. The titan weighs more I would think. Its a bigger boat and has thicker fiberglass. I also put two 4s packs in it and just hook up one at a time for balance and some added weight. I race with my brother who has an sv, I would say the speed is similar but the titan may handle a bit better. My df 33 handles great and I'm planning on a df 29 for my next build.

I picked up this Titan from Steven at the end of 05. Great boat!!!! Still hanging in there and I have beat it to a pulp!!
          Neu 1515 1Y, Hydra 240, 4s2p 4900s and a worked over X640. I like it!!

Mike Martin does have a couple of Ricos that are impressive, even in the rough stuff... no doubt!! I bought one last year that I'm going to setup to spank him with next year provided we get to race together.

            D. Smock, can I ask why a hydra 240? Using 4S with that motor isnt it recommended to use max of 100A to gain your 1500W constant? I am just asking to clear my mind. Headroom is ALWAYS a good thing I just wonder. Also do you know what kind of amps you might be using with the 640? Thanks

She pulling right at 100 amps on average per Eagle Tree in heat racing trim.
I had a Baracuda w/c 125 in it when I first built it . I'm now using that control in a N-2 mono. We run 1 mile heat races and I didn't want to push a Hydra 120 that hard so I went with the Hydra 240. Headroom, like you said.

is that titan really vac u. I am only interested in running nimhs so a bit heavy already. i guess i am looking to see whats the best performer with a sv system with nimhs. My gorilla glue special is quick and could take abeating but it does not have a ride pad so its a bit slow off the planeing, its cool and small but wish it had a ride pad.

                  No sir It's not a Vac-U-Boat.
Phil did the vinyl work on the boat, so I'm just spreading the love.

I use the same motor and esc in my df33 neu 1515 1y and cc240 for me its just to be on the safe side. Last time out was a max of 102 amps with a x637 prop.
Does anyone know if the rico 29'' is still being made? still not sure what the verdict is on the best 29'' hull out there titan, df, ns2, rico, ect

I assume that ? is for doug. I wouldn't think he uses one. All my boats are direct drive. I have noticed there are alot of titans with trannys. Not sure why, it may be because thats how fdm sells their rtr titans.

The only gears in my boats are in the servos. LOL
FDM sold a ton of boats with trannys.

                            Titan 29

Hi, I run mine direct drive in the P-spec LSO class and have won many races
this season. It is a very stable boat and turns on a dime. My biggest challenger
is a Rio Roses but only has a 6" beam and is very hard to handle in the turns.
He never finishes a heat because he flips. The DF29 is an excellent hull but I do
not like the indentation on the front top of the hull. It is 9.5" wide so no
different than the Titan. I guess it is a matter of which one you like.

Would it be possible to use foam and fiberglass to eliminate the indentation? would it add too much weight? It would make it look nicer
