I've made up a spacer between motor mount and motor that allows air to flow through the motor, anyone tried it before?

I used to have one with fins cut in it for my old brushed car motor.

Air cooling is certainly a worthwhile extra if your motor has the holes nescisarry.
That looks very nice, but if I had the skill to make that, I would make a motor mount similarly shaped instead of the spacer, saving some weight, and getting a smoother air path.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment

Every little bit helps.
I put the extra holes in my motor mounts on every boat that I can.

Look at it this way.
The air in the hull never heats up to anywhere near the temperature of a motor. So it will have a cooling effect.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
