The skeg helps.. but not a big one..this is prob the fastest limited cat I have run..prob is in my mind a little narrow..and a little small .. but if u get it out front.. look out..tested some new size spec motors..def picked up some speed.. not that my 1500 setup is slow.right around 51.. hit 54.8 this afternoon..but not namba legal at this point..

Thanks for the input. I have that strut but I cut the skeg down a lot though to about 3/16" left below the shaft cylinder (long time ago for other boat. I can try it with that.
Once you cut the skeg do you re work it so it's all tapered like it started out or leave the bottom a flat cut?
It's more of a fun boat and club racing as I rarely get out for any sanctioned racing anymore for many reasons...
I'll stick with the 1500 I have and the props you mentioned I have as well.
Any suggestions on strut height since I might start drilling soon?
You still using the tapered rudder too? The red one above is using a straight one.
