Ok......bit of an update here. I've been doing some extensive test and tuning for the last month or so. Here's where it's at as of today's run.
Currently running an 1800kv Electrifly Ammo motor and some no name 180amp esc with 2 Zippy Compact 2200mah 4s in parallel on a REK lower. This thing absolutely SCREAMS on a CNC 4214/3 prop!

Now to the down side.....this thing LOVES to spin out in the corners! I've adjusted the leg up and down....trimmed it up and down...I've tried about every combination I can think of to fix the spin outs but nothing has worked! I know it takes some driving ability to prevent this, and I have successfully ran without a spin out, but it's rare....

Any thoughts on why it's doing this????

Reduce the end point limits, you may have too much steering dialed in. It doesn't take much movement to negotiate a turn with an OPC.

BTW, I wish my boats could run for two miles and come back with the electronics below 40*.....

This may be on the right track. Let me add to it...with this thing running like it does, there's barely any hull in the water. I guess its possible to be running so high that steering inputs have no effect since there is no "edge" of the sponsons to hook the water, therefore, when I throttle down for the turn, I've turned so much into it that it hooks and spins??? (You've just witnessed a "think out loud moment"!!!)

Seems to me if I trim the lower down a bit to keep more of the sponsons in the water, it may corner better????

My steering servo limit is set at 6 jest above 1/2 way. Nice smooth wide turns with jest enough left to tighten up your line if need be. When my cucumber comes out of the fridge it runs at 40 when I pick it fresh from the garden in the hot summer sun it runs more like 102 so as you can see cucumbers can have a wide swing in degrees.

Lots of questions, where is CG, balance point, mfg recommends 8" up from stern. Center line of prop shaft set jest above sponson bottom with jest a couple degrees down trim should be close. I've got 6 oz of led in the nose an my CG is at 7 1/2" boat runs a little loose , I can live with it

Can you please use just instead of jest because I just don't get it. Your English is way too good for you not to know the word just so I have to ask, whats the deal with jest?

CG is about 7 1/4" from transom, centerline of prop shaft is waaay high, trim is about right.

I think leg depth is my issue....I compared the REK unit to my old K&B lower and there's a BIG difference!!!

Ha!!! That was it! Just went out and ran a pack after lowering the entire unit about 1/4". Only spun once, but thats because I was driving with one hand and videoing with the other! I think I was over propped tho.....just fried the motor!!! No biggie tho...it was old.

Thanks to JestDanny for the mfg. info! without that, I may have never got this thing dialed in!!

Once I get my ride height set, center line prop shaft it's set at 1/16 above sponson bottom. I use only very minimal downward trim. I like my thrust to be flat as I can get it, once I get that all set up I never touch it. To fine tune the boats attitude I use CG, calm flat water run loose an fast CG between 7" & 8" as it gets windier an the water starts to get bumpy move CG to between 8" & 9". My batteries are locked into the mid compartment so I have to use led to change CG. Glad I could help .
Momma says I started jesting as a little Danny. As a school boy my teachers said my jesting was disruptive an sent me to the principals office. I've had bosses say I didn't care about my job / career cause I jest, I don't under stand up tight people. Dr. Pill would say my jesting was a middle child's act for attention. A coupe weeks ago I got together with several 40+ year life long pals an gals to jest the night away, now me an one pal can get the jesting to a whole new level an when the old gals pee them selves laughing now that's funny. Life short jest have fun Danny H.
