    Hydro&Marine T4 1/10

    Hello members,
I am new and happy to be part of this community. I am also in need of help. Finally decided to take my shelf queen out and ready for this upcoming season. It's a almost ready to run Hydro&Marine T4. I need to install rear wing, turn fin and upper and lower cowl. Here is the problem, I need help with all of them I think I would ask first if there are members that have or had this hull and can give me there tricks or tip on how to properly install and secure the upper and lower cowl. It's more the upper half that I am clueless on how, with out using cowl locks on the outside. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Best regards, Gabriel

I have not had that hull, but the answer is tape. 3M Insulation tape, Renfrew hockey pad tape, Cellpack 280, various branded hatch tapes, there are many suitable tapes that people use to hold hatches on, several of which are clear so cant be seen from a few yards away, are flexible and stretchable enough to conform to double curvatures, and have waterproof adhesive that leaves no residue if removed within a reasonable timeframe.

That is a beautiful boat, I'd love one myself.

I hope the Tactic radio is good for you.

That boat looks awesome. Is that a water outlet for the motor in the bottom of the hull?

Thank you so much for your reply NativePaul, I wasnt sure if tape was strong enough but I will give it a try this spring. This hull was purchased a few years back at Fine Design, I ask Chris to set me up with all the electronics because I had absolutely no idea. I never had opportunity to run it, so it was a shelf queen all this time but I said to myself this is the year. I can't say anything about Tactic because it will be my first time. I can't take credit for the paint as well, it was done by a pros at Shades of Grey. The paint came out really nice, but I think being a little older now I would have preferred something a little more tame

I also have question on rear wing? What is. Best way to install it to make sure it's identical on both sides. Should I make a gig or something? I am a perfectionist and if it's not the same on both sides I will be super annoying and it would be the only thing I look at lol.

Last thing is the turn fin, does this look correct.

looks like it needs to go to the left a little bit, should line up with the outside edge of the sponson.

Whats the KV of the motor?

                      I have one.

Turns great, runs fantastic with the wind...but into any type of breeze, it gets very flighty very quickly!
I haven't spend enough set up time with it to get her settled down.

For mounting the cowl, tape is the way to go...BUT, consider a bit of mechanical support to help as well...see pic below....a small section of carbon tubing works well for this.

Actually the further to the right the better for tight turning. The issue I see is that it is mounted too low - the flat front of the fin looks like it may be running in the water. This will cause extra drag and compromise turning Somewhat. Raising the fin a bit should fix that.

This fin setup allows my rather narrow Q Sport Hydo to hang tight on the buoys.

Good stuff. I noticed the fin is more effective if I move if forward of the CG, and vice verse if I move it behind. However, I never thought to move it outward. I wonder why that helps.

That's the first time I seen someone use spacers to push the fin out. I will have to give that a try.

Hello Doby, sorry not sure the KV, would have to find the receipt to see the details. If you don't mind me asking, did you glue the lower and upper cowl together? What did you use to cut the the Fiberglass for the scop intake? Is there other pics just so I can see the inside if possible. Sorry for the inconvenience but I am glad you have done nice work on yours. Thank you in advance.
