pursuit or revolt? different levels of pursuit ,help !!

got some funds coming . help!! thought i had it nailed down to a pursuit . which one is better ?
    pursuit?
    revolt?
then theres different levels of the pursuit .
the hobbyking pursuit(then everyone changes the motor ,the esc .....
the standard tfl pursuit sold here (skull and crossbones style)
then theres the upgraded pursuit sold here with 180 amp esc and the better motor .then you must provide a steering servo .

i watched videos of the tfl pursuit(skull version) and it didnt seem that fast . how fast is this boat?

i have a recoil 26 now and want more speed from my next boat . for sure want a v hull . decisions decisions .

Get the one with the 4082 2200kv motor & 180A ESC.
You'll end up putting that sort of setup in it anyway if you are running 4s.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I have two upgraded HK Pursuits running 4s, one for sport running (stock 3660 sss motor) and one for racing (Leopard 4074 2150kv) and three Revolts upgraded with OSE drive shafts.

IMHO both are great boats that handle well at high speed but the Pursuit requires a little more work and $$$ than the Revolt to get it on the water.

At a minimum I suggest that you upgrade the drive shaft on both models and ditch the stock prop on the Pursuit.

Good luck, I don't think you would be disappointed with either choice.

yeah ,thinking the same thing . 429.00 though and you need to provide a steering servo .

my budget is about 400.00 right now .

Pursuit is better than a Revolt by many miles. Revolt isn't a bad boat or anything. Plenty fast. It's just a little quirky to drive and some of the construction makes me go hmmmmm.

The upgraded version of the Pursuit that OSE sells will give you some more speed and reliability that the Hobbyking version wont. How much more speed is hard to say but the electronics should hold together longer. Burnt electronics is super frustrating. Worth the wait to raise a few more bucks. You can pick up a servo

Don't get too hung up on the mph hour either. The Pursuit's speed will be respectable right out of the box but more important it will be a good driver as is. Then if you find you want to go faster later you can tweak the bottom, make adjustments, etc, even add more power and the boat can take it. I've raced my Pursuits with some obscene setups and the boat's are still in one piece. Battle worn and chipped but still runners. Love my Pursuit hulls.

On the servos, you can pick that up from Hobbyking for next to nothing. I'm sure someone will chime in here with which servo is a safe buy from there.

I have an Impulse V3 new to boating but the boat does 47mph out of the box on 6s. I have a video of it running posted on the forum. I really like the boat, it now has a Voracity motor in it I got from Kfxguy on the forum and I think it is knocking on the door of 60mph and rock steady at that speed. Horizon has a special at times where you can get the boat for $389 shipped. I believe it has better components then the Revolt 30 and is a better value but that is just my opinion.
                  Here is the video link

I only say that because the RTR Revolt includes a radio, ESC and steering servo whereas the HK Pursuit does not.

                    I enjoy both

I don't have an Impulse. But I have raced against them with a Pursuit. The stock Impulse was no match for the Pursuit with a 2200kv 4074 motor & a 440/3 blade prop.
So with the OSE Pursuit & the 4082 size motor. The stock Impulse probably won't stand a chance.
I use these servos in most of my boats. A bit industrial, but gobs of torque for a Pursuit. Metal gears, dual bearings, digital.

While I defer to the respected members above, who are super helpful and accomplished racers, I will share my .02
I have never had a pursuit, so I can't comment on them.

I have had many AQ(aquacraft) products, 3- Revolt 30s, Lucas Oil and Motley Crew cats, etc. They are a GREAT value and a blast to drive!
Replacement parts are inexpensive and readily available. With a sharp/balanaced Grimracer 42x55 or Octura M445 prop, you should see low to mid 40's which is plenty fast and stable on the water. Also, they handle small chop well too. For the last few years, these have been my go to boats for myself and my kids. We just sport run, 4-5 minute timed loops and don't have any racing near us.

Recently, I've added a larger Voracity and Zelos to my fleet and those have been a nice next progression into larger, faster boats.
Good luck with your decision and know that OSE is the BEST forum full of knowledgeable and helpful boaters!
